KHS: Animals, people mistreated

I agree with Ed Hobby's letter regarding the Humane Society. I recently decided I wanted to volunteer to help out. After taking a tour I was appalled at the conditions, especially where the dogs are housed. I felt so sorry for the dogs; their kennels were dirty and one dog had vomited and no one bothered to clean it up. The animals seemed to be so miserable; the cats' cages were in a little better condition but they put a lot of cats in each cage. I tried to help out but was treated rudely. I did not feel comfortable there and didn't like the attitudes of the people in charge so I too decided to "jump ship."

It's very sad that the animals are not cared for, and neither are the volunteers. I hope someone can step in and take care of things there. Thank you Mr. Hobby for your insight.
