Women's bowling group

to meet tonight in Hayden

The Coeur d'Alene USBC Women's Bowling Association will hold its fall meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express in Hayden, next to Triple Pay.

Association awards will be presented, as will a Hall of Fame induction. The meeting is open to all members.

for Post Falls-Lakeland game

Tickets for Friday's high school football game between Post Falls and Lakeland can be purchased at the activities office at Post Falls High through Friday at 4 p.m.

Kickoff for the nonleague game is 7 p.m. at Trojan Stadium.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

For fans with a current ASB sticker, there is no charge.

Fresno player suspended,

San Jose coach reprimanded

DENVER - Fresno State defensive lineman Tristan Okpalaugo has been suspended for a half game for a personal foul penalty in last Saturday's game against North Dakota, Western Athletic Conference commissioner Karl Benson announced.

The play occurred with 5:42 remaining in the game when Okpalaugo kicked a North Dakota player and was ejected from the game.

By NCAA rules, conferences are required to review personal and flagrant fouls each week to determine if additional action is necessary.

Okpalaugo will be suspended for the first half of Saturday's game at Idaho.

Benson also reprimanded San Jose State coach Mike MacIntyre for arguing with officials on the field near the end of the Spartans' loss to Nevada on Saturday.

Space still available

in coaching clinic,

leadership conference

COEUR d'ALENE - Space is available for the 2011 North Idaho Coaching Clinic and Leadership Conference, hosted by North Idaho College on Friday and Saturday.

Designed for coaches, educators and businesses, the clinic will feature coaches and leaders, who will share their success stories and motivational tactics during the two-day conference.

Speakers include Ken Bone from Washington State, Brooks Thompson of Texas-San Antonio, North Idaho College women's basketball coach Chris Carlson, College of Idaho men's basketball coach Rod Jensen, former NIC men's basketball coach Rolly Williams and Post Falls High boys basketball coach Mike McLean.

The first day of the clinic will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with registration beginning at 6 at Christianson Gym. Saturday's clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lunch is included.

Cost is $55 through the morning of the event.

Time set for WSU-Colorado

football game on Oct. 1

The Washington State at Colorado football game, scheduled for Oct. 1, will be played at 12:30 p.m. and televised by Fox College Sports (FCS) Pacific (DirecTV 617).

Gonzaga to play in Canada,

finish slate with independent

The Gonzaga men's basketball team will play a game outside of the United States when the Bulldogs face the University of Hawaii on Nov. 19 in Vancouver, British Columbia, the school and Idol Sports and Entertainment announced.

The BC Basketball Classic will be held in Rogers Arena, home of the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL and will be a homecoming for Gonzaga center Robert Sacre, who grew up in North Vancouver and attended Handsworth Secondary School, located less than 10 miles from Rogers Arena.

Forward Kelly Olynyk (Kamloops, British Columbia) and freshman guard Kevin Pangos (Newmarket, Ontario) will also return to Canadian soil for the game.

The Bulldogs completed their schedule with the addition of Longwood University of Farmville, Va., on Feb. 27 in Spokane. It will be the inaugural meeting between the schools, and will serve as senior night.

Longwood, a NCAA Division I independent, went 12-19 last season.
