Sean Paul Montgomery, 42, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at his home near Priest River.
Sean was born Oct. 2, 1968, in Sandpoint to Ivan and Marte Montgomery. He attended Southside Elementary, Sandpoint Middle School and Sandpoint High School. He enjoyed playing football and he helped coach Jr. Tackle football.
As a teenager, Sean worked at horse race tracks and as a Gallop Boy in Texas and Canada. When he returned to Idaho he owned and operated an excavation business. In 1991 Sean received a kidney transplant from his sister Coco.
In June 1995 Sean married Shawnya Hobbs in Sandpoint. They moved to Missouri, had a daughter Kaitlyn, and Sean worked as a warehouse manager for Corning. In 2003 he moved back home to Idaho.
Sean was a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club and was a past member of the Eagles. He loved football, hunting, fishing, wood working, candy and collecting knives and guns. Children loved him.
Sean is survived by his daughter, Kaitlyn Montgomery and her mother, Shawnya in Hartville, Mo.; his five siblings, Connie (Gary) Spurgeon of Sandpoint, Melanie (Gordon) Hollett of Priest River, Tammie (Joe) Watson of Sagle, Coco (Kevin) Montgomery of Priest Lake and Morgan (Sally) Montgomery of Cocolalla; stepmother Rachael Montgomery of Sagle, stepbrothers Chuck Thompson and Mike Thompson both of Sandpoint; stepsister Debbie DeLong of Anaconda, Mont., along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan Montgomery and Marte Elliott.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at the Southside Community Church in Cocolalla, with Pastor Rick McLeod officiating. Burial will be next to his father, Ivan, in the Whispering Pines Cemetery.
