Kathryn 'Kay' Irene Nepp Palmer, 95

Kathryn "Kay" Irene Nepp Palmer, 95, passed away Aug. 29, 2011, at Four Seasons Assisted Living Facility in Coeur d'Alene. She was born Oct. 24, 1915, in Casselton, N.D., to Carl and Tena (Nelson) Nepp.

She is survived by two daughters, Connie and Steve Williams, and Kathy and Mark Beaudoin; and son Joel and Joye Palmer; one adopted daughter, Beverly Hardin; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Wes and one sister.

She lived in the Spokane area for 51 years. Kay was a teacher for 29 years. She taught in Michigan and Washington.

The last three and a half years she has enjoyed excellent friends and care at Fairwinds Assisted Living in Coeur d'Alene. During the last six months, she has been blessed to receive outstanding assistance at Life Care Center of Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai Medical Center and Four Seasons Assisted Living, as well as, Hospice of North Idaho during her final days.

Kay was a longtime member of the Millwood Community Presbyterian Church, and the Star Shooter Square Dance Club. It was at the Western Dance Center that she and her husband spent most Saturday nights square dancing.

At the family's request there will be no services. A memorial was held with family and friends.
