An FBI presence at Riverstone
Nils Rosdahl | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 13 years, 3 months AGO
The official occupant is the General Services Administration, but the people in the building just under construction at 2155 N. Riverstone Drive will be with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The 9,500- square-foot, single-level structure to be completed in April is located on the inside corner of Riverstone Drive, south of where it connects with Seltice Way. It's west of the Riverstone Administration building, which won't be that too much longer. We'll get into the details of that and another new Riverstone building next week.
The approximate 20 employees of the FBI North Idaho office will be moving from the Coeur d'Alene North building (between Northwest Boulevard and First Street) where they have been about 15 years. They handle FBI "business" north of Lewiston, west of Missoula and east of Spokane. The new building is owned by Baker Construction of Spokane. (For more, see Tidbits).
New tenants in two buildings
Thrivent Financial Services for Lutherans has moved to 133 E. Poplar Avenue from 1621 N. Third St. Hours for Dwight Hoeck and Kirk Hille are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Phone 664-6909. Check www.thrivent.com.
Their previous offices on Third are now occupied by the Idaho Education Association that moved from 101 W. Ironwood Drive. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Phone 667-1502.
And three more on Cd'A Avenue
The single-level building that formerly housed Fresh Start on the south side of Coeur d'Alene Avenue between Fourth and Fifth streets has three new occupants.
Suite 414 has Christina G. Photography. Phone owner Christina Goold for an appointment at 765-5560. Check www.christinagphotography.com.
Robert Hagen, MD., is in Suite 416. Educated at George Washington University, he practices family medicine and is an aviation examiner. He and his family came to North Idaho from Bakersville, Calif., after hearing about the area from their daughter's first-grade teacher. For an appointment phone 667-1110 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays.
The Shirley Bade Law Firm is in Suite 418. Moving from 408 Sherman Ave., she specializes in business and tax law and works with estate planning. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30-noon Fridays. Phone 665-1335. Check www.shirleybade.com.
Miles Coffee opens Monday
All types of coffees, blended drinks, smoothies, Italian sodas, Red Bull blasts, muffins, bagels and more will be available at the Miles Coffee drive-through when it opens Monday at 167 W. Miles Ave., Hayden.
Hours of 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays will be extended soon. Owner Donna Kinney said prices are very competitive, and mentioning this notice gives you 50 cents off.
Here's this week's tidbits:
• A few weeks ago after exploring Riverstone I mentioned the sign that says surveillance cameras are being used must be on the FBI property. Oops. They're actually on the Whitewater Creek Apartments property because construction materials were stolen there.
• The grand opening for Horizon Credit Union in Suite 10 at 920 N. Highway 41, Post Falls, will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. The celebration will include a prize drawing and a block party with neighbors Nate's New York Pizza, Pita Pit and Anytime Fitness. Check www.hzcu.org.
• Having gone to Montana for various reasons three times in two weeks, I noticed "speed" signs on both sides of Lookout Pass. The white signs are actual speed limits, and the yellow signs (on the curves) are advisory speeds. Near Cataldo, the "ICP Users, Exit 39" sign is for Institutional Control Program truckers bringing materials to the Superfund site.
• Keep "insure" and "ensure" straight. Insure is financial; ensure is to make certain.
