George Samuel Inglis Sr., born to Gertrude (Scheidegger) and Ernest P. Inglis April 7, 1931, in Pawnee City, Neb., passed away, surrounded by his family at his home on Sept. 24, 2011.

Raised on a farm in Humboldt, Neb., George was drafted in the Army and served at Ft. Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, working on anti-aircraft guns. After an honorable discharge he purchased a farm with his father in Dawson, Neb. In 1959 George married Rosemary McGinnis. Taking advantage of the GI bill, he went to barber school and spent the next 45 years in Coeur d'Alene, 37 years of that time with Richard Bird at The Mall and Best Avenue Barber Shops.

George survived his wife, Rosemary, after 30 years of marriage and in 1991 married Penny. They had eight children between them.

He enjoyed his family, camping, his lifelong friends and relatives, reading the Daily Coeur d'Alene Press and his toothpick. A farmer at heart he always had a huge garden and kept in touch with his hometown roots reading the weekly Humboldt Standard newspaper. George was a longtime member of the Eagles Aerie 486 and the American Legion Post No. 0143.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary (1990), and two granddaughters (1995).

George is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Penny; children Mary Lisenbee, Linda Inglis, George Jr. (Heidi) and Rebecca (DW Clark); stepchildren TaLisa Burrington, Petrina (Don) Spellman, Theresa (Dean Lathrop) Wagner and Tom (Sherry) Rose; son-in-law Randy (Sherri) Burrington; foster daughter Margie McElver (son Willy); 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; faithful friend, Ray Hansen; special friends, Barb and Don Burgeson; and his beloved pets, Gus, Beauty and Tucker.

They must have needed a good barber in heaven because we lost one of our best. We will miss you and remember you always.
