MISSOULA - Timi Severson had eight kills and served nine aces as the Flathead Bravettes (5-2, 9-4) swept host Missoula Big Sky (2-5, 5-10) on Thursday night. Scores were 25-14, 25-22, 25-17.
"Basically, we got the job done. It was nothing special. We didn't set the world on fire. We came to Missoula, got the job done," said Flathead coach Leon Wilcox. "We'll take that win and be ready to bring our ‘A' game for Sentinel Saturday at 7 p.m," he said.
The freshman games are set for 4 p.m., followed by JV at 5:30 p.m.
One nice thing, though, was the final point.
"Timi crushed a little shoot set on the last point with no block ... . nothing but floor," he said.
Hannah Sackett added nine kills and Emma Andrews contributed two blocks and 11 digs to the Bravette effort.
Saturday will be Flathead's Dig Pink fundraiser for breast cancer awareness. T-shirts and hoodies will be available to purchase and all the proceeds will go to the Sideout Foundation. The foundation will send 25 percent of the money raised by the Bravettes to a local breast health organization of the team's choice.
