Tad Mosher has another whopper of a tale to tell.

The Hayden Lake man continued his string of angling accomplishments by pulling a monster 12-pound fish from Hayden Lake on Sept. 14.

He's not exactly sure what it was, but believes it's a kamloops with a "huge head and huge mouth."

"I can fit both fists in it," he said.

Mosher, who has been landing lunkers for at least 10 years from his favorite spot off shore at Coopers Bay, was using orange Powerbait when the fish struck his line. That was the beginning of a 35-minute tussle.

"It kept running and running and running," he said. "It took out over half the line on my reel."

The fish, which Mosher said looked like a salmon, was unusual in appearance.

"This thing is covered in spots," he said.

Despite the spots, large head and mouth, it will wind up where most all of Mosher's fish wind up: On the dinner table.
