A badly bruised hand isn’t going to keep Michael Vick off the field.

Vick practiced Wednesday and said there’s a “100 percent” chance he starts when the Philadelphia Eagles (1-2) host San Francisco (2-1) on Sunday.

The star quarterback was initially diagnosed with a broken, non-throwing hand after getting hurt in a 29-16 loss to the New York Giants three days ago. But tests on Monday revealed he had a contusion on his right hand.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Rays 8, Yankees 7, 12 inn.: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Tampa Bay clinched the AL wild card with a stunning rally, overcoming a late seven-run deficit and then beating New York on Evan Longoria’s home run in the 12th.

Orioles 4, Red Sox 3: Boston completed its September collapse in horrific and historic fashion, falling out of the playoff chase by allowing two ninth-inning runs in a loss at Baltimore.

The Red Sox held a nine-game lead in the AL wild-card race after Sept. 3, but a 7-19 swoon left them tied with Tampa Bay entering the final day of the regular season.

Twins 1, Royals 0: At Minneapolis, Trevor Plouffe’s RBI single in the ninth lifted Minnesota past Kansas City.

Rangers 3, Angels 1: At Anaheim, Calif., Mike Napoli’s homer in the ninth helped Texas clinch home-field advantage in the AL division series and beat Los Angeles.

Tigers 5, Indians 4: Miguel Cabrera singled and doubled to clinch the AL batting title, and Detroit beat visiting Cleveland.

Blue Jays 3, White Sox 2: Chris Sale issued a pair of bases-loaded walks in the ninth, allowing Toronto to rally at Chicago.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Cardinals 8, Astros 0: Chris Carpenter struck out 11 and St. Louis completed one of the more remarkable comebacks in baseball history, clinching the NL wild card with a win at Houston and a later loss by Atlanta.

St. Louis trailed Atlanta by 10½ games on Aug. 25. The Cardinals won 23 of their last 31 games.

The Cardinals open the postseason Saturday at NL East champion Philadelphia. In the other NL playoff matchup, Arizona visits Milwaukee.

Phillies 4, Braves 3, 13 inn.: Atlanta closer Craig Kimbrel surrendered the tying run in the ninth, and Hunter Pence came through with a run-scoring single in the 13th to give visiting Philadelphia a victory that ended the Braves’ season.

Dodgers 7, Diamondbacks 5: At Phoenix, Matt Kemp hit a two-run homer to become the first Dodgers player in 70 years to lead the NL in home runs and RBIs, and Los Angeles beat Arizona.

Brewers 7, Pirates 3: Zack Grienke pitched six solid innings to help Milwaukee clinch home-field advantage in the first round of playoffs with a victory over visiting Pittsburgh.

Nationals 3, Marlins 1: At Miami, Washington’s Stephen Strasburg allowed one hit and struck out 10 in six scoreless innings and Florida bid its stadium goodbye with a loss.

Next year the Marlins move into a new ballpark with new manager Ozzie Guillen, who held his introductory news conference before the game.

Rockies 6, Giants 3: Kevin Kouzmanoff had three hits and drove in two runs, leading Colorado at San Francisco.

San Francisco wound up in second place in the NL West behind Arizona, becoming the first defending champion not to make the playoffs since St. Louis in 2007.

Mets 3, Reds 0: New York’s Jose Reyes bunted for a base hit in the first inning against visiting Cincinnati and was lifted for a pinch-runner, but it was enough to give him the NL batting title with a .337 average.

Padres 9, Cubs 2: Will Venable’s grand slam lifted host San Diego past Chicago.
