MOSES LAKE, Wash. - Heather Bishop singled to score Ciara Fernandez with two out in the seventh to lead the North Idaho College Cardinals past the Southern Nevada Coyotes 3-2 in the first game before falling 10-7 in the second game of a Scenic West Athletic Conference softball doubleheader at the Larson Playfield on Saturday.
Former Coeur d'Alene High standout Jessica Lupinacci went 2 for 3 with an RBI and run scored for NIC.
Nicole Atkinson hit a two-run home run in the second game for NIC (17-26, 13-19 SWAC), which travels to Snow next Friday and Saturday. Shelby Carter and Amber Meyers also homered for NIC in the second game.
The four-game series was moved to Moses Lake because of soggy field conditions at Memorial Field, NIC's home field.
Southern Nevada is 16-26, 11-19.
