Jacks soccer defeats Wapato

QUINCY - Pedro Nunez scored two goals and Daniel Contreras and Omar Alvarado added one each as the Jacks beat the Wolves 4-1 in CWAC soccer action Tuesday. The win improves Quincy to 2-0 in league play and 4-2-1 overall.

Nunez got the Jacks on the board with an unassisted goal nine minutes into the match to put Quincy up 1-0. Nunez added another score off an assist by Alvarado at the 15 minute-mark to increase the lead to 2-0. Contreras scored the Jacks third goal of the first half at the 40th minute of action to stretch the score to 3-0 at intermission.

Wapato scored its lone goal of the match when the wolves Fredy Rodriguez found the back of the net at the 53 minute mark to close to 3-1.

Alvarado gave the Jacks an insurance goal at the 77th minute of play to seal the win for Quincy, 4-1.

Alex Sanchez, the Jacks keeper, had two saves on the day. Ramon Hernandez had 10 saves for Wapato.

Quincy is back in action when the team travels to Ellensburg Saturday to take on the Bulldogs.
