Rick and Joy Sward

61st Anniversary

Rick and Joy Sward, of Coeur d'Alene, shared a 26-year career in the Marine Corps. They were married March 31, 1951, in a wedding chapel in Pasadena, Calif.

They have two daughters, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

ENGAGEMENTS

Rapalli-Metchikoff

Bob and Cathryn Rapalli, of Hauser, announce the engagement of their daughter Tara Cathleen Rapalli to Peter Metchikoff, son of Peter and Doris Metchikoff of Huntington Beach, Calif.

Tara is a 2000 graduate of Coeur d'Alene High School and recently graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in environmental sciences. Peter graduated from Edison High School in 1996 and is self-employed in Honolulu, Hawaii.

A June 2012 wedding is planned in San Diego, Calif., and the couple will reside in Honolulu.

Shamberg-Linder

Katie Shamberg and Charlie Linder are happy to announce their engagement. They look forward to celebrating their wedding with family and friends at an outdoor ceremony on an area farm this July.

The couple are graduates of the University of Idaho where they met 13 years ago. Katie, from Hayden Lake, holds a BFA in graphic design. She works as an Art Director at Seven2, an interactive design and development agency in Spokane. Charlie, from Pendleton, Ore., holds a B.S. in public communications with a minor in finance. He works for Pita Pit USA Corporate in Coeur d'Alene where the couple reside.

Droeszler-Enns

Daniel and Lisa Droeszler of Kieler, Wis., along with Ben and Michelle Enns of Post Falls, are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their children, Holly Droeszler and Matthew Enns.

Holly is a gymnastics pre-school director at IEGA in Coeur d'Alene. Matthew Enns is a business development manager at Parker Subaru in Post Falls. Both currently reside in Idaho.

The couple will be married on June 23, 2012, at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Kieler. The reception will be held in Galena, Ill., at the Galena Convention Center.

The couple will also be having a reception on July 28, 2012, in Dalton Gardens for their family and friends in Idaho.

Lillian Eve Jacobs was born at 8:49 a.m. March 21, 2012, to Misty Dawn Jacobs of Post Falls. She weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. and was 19 inches long. Brother is Dawson Bressie. Sister is Aislin Freund. Maternal grandparents are Craig and Cindy Jacobs.

Alexander William VanValkinburgh was born at 9 a.m. Nov. 8, 2011, to Kandace K. and Christopher W. VanValkinburgh of Post Falls. He weighed 8 lbs. 7 oz. and was 21 inches long. Brother is Dylan Bill. Maternal grandparents are Keim and Fay Bill. Paternal grandparents are Bill and Kim VanValkinburgh.

Trinity Rose Christensen was born at 3:11 a.m. Feb. 27, 2012, to Ashley Kay Barr and Anthony Peter Christensen of Rathdrum. She weighed 9 lbs. 10 oz. and was 19.75 inches long. Maternal grandmother is Tammy Anderson. Paternal grandparents are Lori Christensen and Ken Christensen.

Camryn Lynn Thompson was born at 5:35 a.m. Feb. 22, 2012, to Derrick and Melissa Thompson of Coeur d'Alene. She weighed 8 lbs. 8 oz. and was 21.25 inches long. She joins big brother Grady. Maternal grandparents are Tom and Terri Walker of Coeur d'Alene. Paternal grandparents are Curt and Chris Thompson of Ferndale, Wash.

MILITARY

Army Pfc. Jacob P. Ferguson has graduated from the Basic Field Artillery Cannon Crewmember Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

Ferguson is the son of Karla and Lee Abey of Post Falls.

He is a 2011 graduate of Post Falls High School.

Navy Seaman Gordon T. Artis, son of Judy D. Masters, of Careywood, and Robert W. Artis, of Hayden, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Artis is a 2010 graduate of Coeur d'Alene High School in Coeur d'Alene.
