WARDEN - During her shopping expeditions to second-hand stores and Goodwill, Paty Garza noticed something.
People from all walks of life were shopping at the reduced-price stores.
"It seems like everyone is shopping in thrift stores," Paty Garza said.
Garza saw the popularity of the shops.
She opened her own business at 9 a.m. Saturday in Warden, named Paty's Second-Hand Store.
It is located at 222 Main St.
She owns the business with her husband, Cannon Garza.
She offers women's, men's, children's and baby clothing, shoes, jewelry, purses, dishes and knick knacks. Some of the women's clothing came from her own collection.
"She has a little bit of everything," said her sister, Lupe Wright.
The store came together in two weeks, with the help of friends and family.
They donated clothing to her store and helped her put out the items and set up the displays.
She credits her husband for his help. He farms during the day and helped her at the store after work, staying as late as 10 p.m.
"It feels good, it's your own business," Paty Garza said.
She likes clothes, has always done well holding her own yard sales, and adds "bling," or sequins, to dress up jackets, jeans, dresses and blouses.
Her experience working with the public includes past jobs at an Othello clothing store and as a cashier at Bob's Corner in Moses Lake.
She is receiving clothing donations, but at this point, isn't accepting them on consignment.
Store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The store is closed on Sunday.
