It isn’t surprising with the National Weather Service predicting this could be the wettest March in years for north Idaho, that spring sports have been interrupted.

A tournament for the Bonners Ferry High School Boys Badger baseball team scheduled in Orofino for the weekend of March 16-17 was canceled due to weather. The game against Sandpoint on March 27 was also canceled because of rain.

The following weekend was the girls softball first softball tournaments and were also canceled with Priest River. Their game on March 27 with Sandpoint also rained out. Which were also rained out.

Not only are the baseball teams suffering the weather but the first Bonners Ferry High School Track Invitational was to be held last weekend and it was also canceled.

These games have not been rescheduled as of yet and Athletic Director Kris Knowles said with the weather predictions it could be some time before fields are dry enough to play.

The BFHS boys are scheduled for a home tournament March 30 and 31 with the time to be announced.

The girls softball team is scheduled to play in a home tournament on that same weekend.

The next rack meet will be held at hoe against Kellogg and St. Maries on April 12.
