The Columbia Falls boys tennis team rolled over Ronan Chiefs on March 27, winning 7-0.

“I was very pleased with how the boys performed,” coach Gary Yee said.

Miroslov Zvygelskiy led the boys in No. 1 singles with a straight set win against Hunter Shima, 6-1, 7-5. Parker Johnson and Brian Marcille downed Daniel Aylesworth and Tyler Anderson in No. 1 doubles, 6-2, 6-2. Yee was also pleased with Logan Carr and Mike Sandefer. The doubles team won their first varsity match.

“For the two of them to figure it out was awesome,” Yee said.

The girls had a tougher time, falling to Ronan 5-2. Natalie Law beat Seri Smith 6-4,3-6 in No. 2 singles, and Magee Panasuk and McAne Christofferson beat Samantha Ashley and Brianna Frank 8-6.

Coach Jerry Smalley said one team looked like it had been outside for all its practices but the other team — Columbia Falls — looked like it had been inside for all its practices but one.

The weather didn’t get any better — a match last Thursday against Whitefish was called shortly after it started because of rain. It will be rescheduled at a later date.
