QUINCY - Grant County Sheriff's Deputies reportedly found stolen metal and a marijuana growing operation at an alleged illegal scrap yard near Quincy.

Deputies served a search warrant Thursday morning at a scrap yard on State Route 28 West in the community of Winchester, which is about seven miles east of Quincy, according to Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones.

They found five people living in a house and in travel trailers on the property and discovered large quantities of metal apparently cut apart for scrap, Jones stated. Deputies also found "countless pieces" of suspected stolen property including tools, welders and other items, he added.

A marijuana growing operation consisting of a dozen plants - each standing about three feet tall - was reportedly located inside the house.

Jones said deputies applied for and received additional search warrants for the stolen property and the marijuana growing operation.

All five individuals living on the property were arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail.

April Triplet, 32, Quincy, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mario A. Gutierrez, 30, Ephrata, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Charlene Leivan, 54, Quincy, was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing marijuana and possession of stolen property. Ryan Leivan, 22, Quincy, was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing marijuana and possession of stolen property. Corina Garcia, 40, Quincy, was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing marijuana possession of stolen property and possession of a legend drug - Vicodin.

Investigators from the Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team, Grant County Health District and Grant County Code Enforcement were on scene last week, and Jones stated more arrests and charges are likely as the investigation continues.
