Social media ethical question; weigh in

 A Press reader tells us she was recently "morally and ethically perplexed" by a situation she encountered on Facebook.

She visited the Facebook page of an old friend, now a high school golf coach in eastern Washington, and noticed a post from one of the high school-age girls on this male coach's team.

"The reason this appalled me was the simple fact she was using a pet name for him," the reader wrote on The Press' Facebook page.

She went on to report that her own brother, a high school track coach, refuses to create a Facebook account to avoid this type of situation.

"I'm curious how local coaches feel about this?" she wrote.

So, are there any high school coaches, parents, teachers or students out there who want to weigh in on whether high school staffers should interact with students on Facebook?
