BENCH: Thanks for replacing it

Last summer the polished granite bench donated by the 1947 Coeur d’Alene High School class to the city for Phippeny Park was vandalized for the second time. The class had no money to replace the bench and we were told that the city was self-insured and probably wouldn’t replace the bench.

Last fall we received a call from Doug Eastwood letting us know that the city did have money to replace the polished granite bench with a metal bench and we could pick colors for the replacement. It is our understanding that Ace Walden donated money some time ago for doing repairs at Phippeny Park.

This winter the city did install the new bench with recognition that it was from the CHS ‘47 Class. It looks very nice and is greatly appreciated by the class.
