WENATCEE - The Chiefs hit the road Tuesday looking to get back on track with a non-league win against the Wildcats.

But Moses Lake fell two runs short of a victory as the team lost to Eastmont 6-5.

Neither team produced a run in the first inning and a half of play. The Wildcats bats erupted in the bottom of the second however, as Eastmont brought five runners across the plate, two of which were unearned as the Chiefs fielding woes continue to plague the team.

Moses Lake got a run back in the top of the fourth inning to close the gap to 5-1.

The Wilcats were held off the board in the bottom of the inning, but scored a run in their half of the fifth to go back up by five, 6-1.

The Chiefs threatened in the top of the seventh with four runs, but fell short of the comeback and was sent home with a disappointing loss.

The defeat dropped Moses Lake to 1-6 in non-league action. The Chiefs are 0-2 in league play.

Elliot Sage and Colton Kelly led the offensive attack for Moses Lake going 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI each.

Brad Fox was tagged with the loss for Moses Lake after giving up five runs off five hits in two innings on the mound. Jason Gonzalez, who came on for two innings in relief, gave up two hits and struck out two Wildcats.

Mason Mathews pitched an inning and gave up a run, and closer Jacob Price threw an inning of no hit ball, but gave up two base on balls.

The Chiefs are back on the diamond Tuesday when they host the Panthers from Wenatchee in twin bill action at Larson Field.

The first game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
