James E. Sherod, 74

On April 8, 2012, James E. Sherod went peacefully to be with his Heavenly Father with family at his side in Hayden.

He was born to Ed and Ruth Sherod in Hardin, Mont., and graduated from Ryegate, Mont., High School in 1955.

James married his high school sweetheart in January 1956. Her parents were John and Madge VanderVoort of Ryegate. To this union was born John and Doug.

He did banking for a short time in Montana before going to Washington state where he worked in banking for 38 years and was Bank Manager for 10 years in Wapato, Wash.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years; sons, John and Doug; three grandsons and two granddaughters; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. James had two brothers, David Sherod (Joyce) of Ryegate and Jerry (Mary) of Great Falls, Mont.; and Lou Rene’s brother, Morlee VanderVoort (Alice) of Ryegate.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ruth Sherod; and Lou Rene’s parents, John and Madge VanderVoort of Ryegate.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at the Grace Bible Church in Hayden. Burial will follow at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
