SB: Wildkats defeat Lady Pirates 8-3

COLUMBIA FALLS - Polson moved to 1-2 on the season after an 8-3 Northwestern A conference loss to Columbia Falls on Tuesday. The Wildkats, who showed plenty of promise last season but were extremely young, knocked out 10 hits against the Lady Pirates and four doubles as they defeated the two-time defending state champions.

COLUMBIA FALLS - Polson moved to 1-2 on the season after an 8-3 Northwestern A conference loss to Columbia Falls on Tuesday. The Wildkats, who showed plenty of promise last season but were extremely young, knocked out 10 hits against the Lady Pirates and four doubles as they defeated the two-time defending state champions.

Both Ashley Johnson and Riley Kenney went 2-for-3 for Polson. Jordyn Evertz added a hit for the Lady Pirates.

Polson took the early 1-0 lead in the first frame of the game. Columbia Falls struck back, scoring three in the second inning and five in the fifth stanza. The Lady Pirates committed two errors in the matchup but the Wildkats weren't immune to mistakes either and had four errors themselves.

Ashley Trueblood picked up the victory on the mound for Columbia Falls. Polson will have the rest of the week off after they rescheduled their Thursday matchup against Libby to Tuesday, April 17 at 5:30 p.m.

You’ll have to excuse me for stating the obvious, I’m assuming everyone in Polson already knows this but Neal Lewing is one heck of an actor. I was first able to see the Port Polson player as Judge Turpin in the production of Sweeney Todd last November.
