Chiefs drop games to Wenatchee

MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake baseball lost both games of a doubleheader against the visiting Panthers from Wenatchee Tuesday.
The losses drops the Chiefs to 0-4 in league play and 4-8 overall. The Panthers, 4-0 and 8-2 overall, are tied with Richland for first place in the CBBN.

Game one of the twin bill saw Wenatchee jump out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
The Panthers rallied with two outs to push the run across the plate. Wenatchee had a chance to blow the game wide open in the onset as the Panthers loaded the bases, but hit an inning ending pop up to Moses Lake's pitcher Devin Juarez for the third out.
The lead held up until the bottom of the third when Moses Lake got a run back to narrow the gap to 4-1.
The Panthers added two more runs in the top of the fourth to go up 6-1 and looked as though looked as though they were going to cruise to the win.
But the Chiefs hung five runs on the board in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game 6-6. Wenatchee answered back with three in the top of the sixth to go back in front, 9-6.
Moses Lake was unable to produce any runs in the last inning and a half and dropped the game by three runs.
Juarez took the loss for the Chiefs.

Moses Lake scored three runs off seven hits, but 13 Chiefs struck out as the home team lost the second game of the doubleheader to the Panthers.
Wenatchee put two runs on the scoreboard in the top of the second inning and one each in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to go up 5-0.
Moses Lake avoided the shutout with three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
The Chiefs hit the road in search of their first league win Friday when they travel to Davis for doubleheader action against the Pirates.
