SB: Lady Bulldogs trounce Big Sky JV, 20-3

ST. IGNATIUS - Mission-Arlee-Charlo scored 11 runs in the first inning, Kinley Pope almost hit for the cycle and the Lady Bulldogs improved their record to 3-0 on the season with a 20-3 victory over Missoula Big Sky's JV on Friday.

ST. IGNATIUS - Mission-Arlee-Charlo scored 11 runs in the first inning, Kinley Pope almost hit for the cycle and the Lady Bulldogs improved their record to 3-0 on the season with a 20-3 victory over Missoula Big Sky's JV on Friday.

Pope went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and two RBIs. She nearly completed the cycle in the bottom of the fourth when her double banged against the outfield fence.

After Big Sky scored a run in the first, MAC responded with 11 runs and would score in every frame for the rest of the game. They would score two in the second and three in the third inning. Big Sky responded with two runs in the top of the fourth, but the Lady Bulldogs countered with four runs in the bottom of the stanza.

Ten different MAC players got hits, and five players had multi-hit games. Janeal McDonald went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Coming off the bench, Carley Elverud drove in two runs with a single in the bottom of the third inning. Catcher Alyssa Doty went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs in the game.

Loren Erickson and Sahriha Camacho also contributed with two hits. Erickson was excellent in the circle for the Lady Bulldogs, holding Big Sky to six hits and striking out four. Meanwhile, the entire MAC team combined for a whopping 18 hits.

MAC will host Ronan this Tuesday at 4 p.m.
