TIGER/Skyline Drive project continues

Lake County Community Development Corporation | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 13 years, 1 month AGO

POLSON — Construction on Skyline Drive resumed this week after the winter shutdown. Finishing touches on the first two phases are expected to be completed by the end of the month.

LS Jensen Construction of Missoula was awarded the contract for phases 1 and 2A last year during a closed bid process. Phase 2B will be open for bid early May with construction to start mid June and continue into fall of 2013. This phase consists mostly of construction of the new roadway, bike path, curb, gutter and approaches, specifically the new Mission View Road.

Skyline Drive at the top of the hill will be cut in elevation by approximately 8 feet and built up in height east of that where new Mission View will enter Skyline. During this portion of the project traffic will be single lane one way west into Polson. Motorists traveling south out of town are asked to find alternate routes for the duration.

Residents can check the county website for more details and maps.

TIGER/Skyline Drive Update

POLSON — Phase 1: The new bridge is mostly complete and open for traffic. The site is still under construction and a 10 m.p.h. speed limit is in effect. Motorists are asked to use caution driving across the bridge as the loose gravel is not conducive to high speed travel. Removal of the bypass bridge is underway with completion by Dec. 31, weather permitting.
