SOUTH FERNLEY, Nev. - North Idaho College catcher Shelby Carter hit home runs in both games and drove in six runs as the Cardinals split a Scenic West Athletic Conference softball doubleheader with Western Nevada on Friday, losing the first game on a walk-off single 15-14 before winning 12-4 at Fernley High.

Friday's games were moved from Carson City due to a snowstorm, but the teams were hoping to play today's doubleheader in Carson City, according to the Scenic West Athletic Conference website.

In the opener, Carter went 3 for 6 with three RBIs and three runs scored for NIC, which scored five runs in the fifth inning to take a 10-8 lead.

Amber Meyers and Ashley Moon drove in two runs apiece in the second game for NIC (18-31, 14-24 SWAC).

Western Nevada is 18-27, 13-18.
