Cardinals swept by Western Nevada, drop 3 of 4 in series

CARSON CITY, Nev. - Ashley Meyers and Shelby Carter hit solo home runs in the opener for North Idaho College, but the host Western Nevada Wildcats swept the Scenic West Athletic Conference softball doubleheader with 8-2 and 9-1 wins Saturday.
Western Nevada (20-27, 15-18) took three of four from the Cardinals in the weekend series.
Heather Bishop doubled to lead off the second game and scored on an RBI ground out by Ashley Moon for NIC (18-33, 14-26 SWAC), which is scheduled to host Southern Idaho on Friday at Memorial Field in Coeur d'Alene.
