Sapphires and syrahs

It all glitters.
Patricia Thompson is combining her sale of custom jewelry with quality wine in the new location of Studio 107. The shop is moving this week from its previous location at Fourth and Lakeside to 503 Sherman Ave., the former location of Coeur d'Alene Cellars Barrel Room 6 wine bar. She has been in the jewelry design business for more than 35 years.
The addition of wine by the glass and bottle and small plates from neighboring Scratch Restaurant includes options of the Studio Wine Club and a location for meetings and private parties and diverse visual arts exhibits monthly. Studio 107 will be the featured gallery for the Coeur d'Alene Art Walk on May 11.
Rachel Dodge and Marni Cliff are the gallery director and wine manager respectively. Regular hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Phone 664-1201. Check www.cdajewelry.com.
LePeep restaurant to Riverstone
We'll have the details later, but LePeep, a breakfast-lunch restaurant, will come to the Bellerive Condos complex of Riverstone this summer.
The 25-year-old LePeep chain has 57 stores based out of Littleton, Colo. This will be the first Northwest location through owners David and Maggie Kemp. The new place will be on a ground floor with a patio over the Spokane River.

Jump for Joy on Dalton Avenue
An indoor party and play center called Jump for Joy will open next week at 250 W. Dalton Ave. Geared for children 12 and younger, the 6,240-square-foot facility includes six inflatable bounce houses, a toddler climbing structure and two party rooms.
Open jump times are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with private parties 5-8 p.m. daily. Prices are $6 per child per hour and party packages $120 for two hours. Kids younger than 2 and parents are free.
"We will be donating 10 percent of our profit to DonorsChoose.org, a non-profit website geared toward helping teachers and classrooms with needs that their school budgets can't meet." said Ben Woitas, who owns Jump for Joy with his wife Maureen. "We'll target the grade school level in the Coeur d'Alene District." From Minnesota and New Jersey respectively, they came to North Idaho from San Diego in 1994. She teaches first grade, and he has been in the telecom field.
Hang on for these tidbits:
• We'll try to run details on these eateries as they open - Rogers Burgers (in front of K-Mart), Meltz Extreme Grilled Cheese, Fu-Ki Japanese Steak House, Moose Creek Pub & Grill and New York Bagels. And Paul Bunyan Drive-In turns 60 soon!
• Chili's Bar & Grill at 482 W. Sunset (next to Fred Meyer on Highway 95) has new management with Craig Richardson in charge of 40 employees. Major helpers are Marc Howard with the kitchen and Frank Cruz-Aedo as assistant manager. Phone 676-1826.
• The recycling pickup here is great although it sadly doesn't include glass. You can take it to the Spokane recycling plant about two miles north of the Sullivan exit.
• Many people ask how I feel about the McEuen Plan. I like it. As is, the waterfront park is extremely under-used. Please ignore the recall effort. These City Council people were instrumental with our fantastic new library, the Kroc Center, the Riverstone development and the Education Corridor.
• Reintarnation - Coming back to life as a hillbilly.
• Style note - Aviators and pamphlets are all fliers, not flyers.
