Hollis I. Hewitt, 89, of Libby

 Hollis I. Hewitt passed away on March 27, 2012, at the Libby Care Center. 

She was born on a farm April 5, 1922, in Blythedale, Mo., to Henry and Goldie Ziegler.

She lived on various farms with her family in Missouri and Iowa while growing up, then married Thomas Woodrow Chasey in 1940. 

She later lived in California, where she married Floyd Hewitt. 

She worked as a meat packer for Rath, Gallo, and various meat producing companies for many years. After retirement she moved several times before finally coming to Libby in 2002.

She is survived by her sons Thomas (wife, Mary) Chasey of Libby, and Steven Hewitt of Sandpoint, Idaho,; a granddaughter Maria (husband, John) Gundacker of Nev., grandson-in-law Vadim Shulaev of Calif., nephew Vincent Sneethen of Iowa; numerous great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Iowa, and her beloved cat Andy.

She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, siblings Alvin Lester Ziegler, Harold Ziegler, Thelma Ziegler, Wayne Ziegler, as well as her grandchildren John Chasey, Steven Chasey, Michele (Chasey) Shulaev, and James Chasey.

At her request, no services shall be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Libby Care Center or Kootenai Pets For Life Foundation. 

Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory in Libby.
