WARDEN - The Cougars were hoping to keep pace with Brewster and Manson when they hosted the Trojans Saturday as both teams were undefeated in league play. But Warden had trouble generating any offense and dropped the match to Manson, 2-1.

The Cougars got on the board first with a goal by Carlos Figueroa with a 25-yard shot that found the back of the Trojan net at the 14 minute-mark. It was the lone goal of the first half of play.

Manson kicked it up a notch in the second half of action to tie the match 1-1 on a goal by Jesus Sanchez at the 65th minute of action. The Trojans Cristian Montez made it 2-1 at the 75 minute-mark to seal the win for Manson.

The Cougars out shot the Trojans 15 to eight. Osbaldo Alba, Warden's keeper had six saves on the match.

"This season has been a very long already," coach Ed Aguliar said. "With only 11 players on the varsity roster for most of the games it has been very difficult to compete with the top teams in our league. We will finish the first half of our season next Tuesday. I hope a couple of players return after being gone for ineligible reasons."

Warden is back in action tomorrow when the Cougars travel to Brewster to match up with the Bears.
