PROSSER - The Huskies traveled to Mustang country looking to steal a couple of road wins and remain undefeated in league play. But Prosser had another thing in mind as they turned back the CWAC powerhouse, taking both games of the twin bill. The losses drops Othello to 7-2-1 in league action and 8-2-1 overall.

The Huskies got out to a 1-0 after their first at bat, but the Mustangs answered back with a run in the bottom of the inning to tie the game 1-1. Neither team scored in the second inning, but both put a run on the board in the third to push the score to 2-2.

That was all the offensive production for the Huskies as they failed to score the rest of the way. Prosser broke the tie in the bottom of the seventh on a walk off hit by Brittany Keller for the 3-2 win. Othello had four hits to the Mustangs seven.

But the real undoing for Othello were four errors committed in the game.

Daisy Salgado and Tori Zambrano led the attack for the Huskies going 1-for-2 at the plate. Kylie Harper had one hit in three at bats with a triple. Morgan Logan took the loss for Othello.

"This game was tight all the way to the last inning," coach Rudy Ochoa said. "Then, with no outs and two runners on base, Brittany Keller blasted a shot to left center field to drive in the winning run."

Othello 5

The Mustangs went up 1-0 after the first inning of play. Othello put two runs on the board in the top of the second and one in the third to take a 3-1 lead. Prosser closed the gap to 3-2 with a run in the bottom of the fifth. The Huskies made it 4-2 with a score in the top of the sixth. But the Mustangs, who weren't about to go away quietly in front of their home crowd, hung three runs on the scoreboard to retake the lead, 5-4. Othello tied the game 5-5 with a run in the seventh. Prosser failed to score its half of the frame to send the game into extra innings.

The Huskies were held off the board in the top of the eighth, but the Mustangs scored one in their half of the inning for the come from behind win. Prosser out hit Othello 10 to 8.

The Huskies had three more miscues for a total of seven errors in two games.

Kim Bullis had the hot bat for Othello with two hits in four at bats. Holly Fleshman had a home run for the Huskies.

Bullis was tagged for the loss for Othello.

"We had the lead till the 6th inning, then Prosser scored three runs to pull ahead 5-4," Ochoa said. "We came back in the top of the 7th with one run to tie the game and send it to extra innings. We left Tori Zambrano stranded on third, and Prosser, with two outs and runner at third, scored on a single to center field to win it."

Othello is back in action Saturday when the team travels to Quincy for doubleheader action against the Jacks.
