Reverend James Woodrow Drush, 94, died April 14, 2012, at Country Home Estates in Hayden. Born Feb. 26, 1918, in Oklahoma, the son of Frank and Victoria (Scoggins) Drush, he grew up and attended local schools in Jones, Okla., graduating from high school in May 1937. He married M. Deanna Milliken in October 1937 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Reverend James Drush began his lifelong career in Ministry in Hinton, Okla., with the Assembly of God Church, and later as an evangelist with the Voice of Healing and other Non Denominational Ministries. His ministry took him to Galveston, Texas, and later to Los Angeles and Oakland, Calif., retiring in 1984. Prior to retiring, he supervised the building of a new church in Oakland. Survivors include his daughter, Carolyn Ann Taylor; his sons, James Larry and David Paul Drush; his grandchildren, Duane, Mark, Cheryl, Monica, George, Casey, Debra, Branden, Joanna, Michael, Keith, Barrett and Richard; in addition to seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Deanna; granddaughter Jessica Taylor and brother Frank Drush Jr.
Viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until beginning of funeral service at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel.
