Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 13 years, 1 month AGO
Barbara Helen Trzuskowski (Raimer) went home to be with the Lord on April 16, 2012. A native of Adams, Mass., Barbara was born Jan. 29, 1921, to Frank and Dorothea (Goetz) Raimer.
Barbara graduated from Adams High School in 1939 and went on to become a registered nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Years later she moved with friends to Coeur d’Alene where she was to meet and marry Richard Trzuskowski, better known as “Truck,” who was to become her sweetheart for life. They partnered in the ownership and operation of Trux Photography on Fourth Street where they enjoyed serving the community for more than 20 years.
She was a faithful member of St. Pius Church where she enjoyed volunteering, especially in the kitchen preparing food for the less fortunate. Barbara supported many worthy organizations and causes and was a long-term recognized member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Best known for her positive attitude and generous spirit she was an easy friend to make and a good one to keep. She never had a mean word to say about anyone and was loved by many. She maintained a busy calendar for most of her life and continued to enjoy daily visits with friends even on her last day with us.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and sister Catherine MacDonald.
She is survived by a sister, Faith Raimer Leming (David) of Grover Beach, Calif.; and brothers, Francis Raimer of Springfield, Mass., Leroy Raimer (Priscilla) of Plant City, Fla., Mark Raimer (Leslie) of New Ashford, Mass., and Paul Raimer (Carla) of Bridgewater, Mass.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.
The family wishes to thank the assisted living staff at Loyalton-Emeritus, Hospice of North Idaho, Hospice House and the volunteers of N.O.S.D.A. (No One Shall Die Alone).
A Rosary will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2012, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 625 E. Haycraft Ave., Coeur d’Alene.
At her request, Barbara’s ashes will be laid to rest with her beloved “Truckee” in Milwaukee, Wis., following a Mass and graveside service officiated by her nephew, Fr. Anthony Zimmer.
