The Bonners Ferry High School girls Badgers softball team is at a 4-5-1 record so far this season.

Tuesday the girls lost to Kellogg at home with a score of 8-3.

Senior Jordan Porter hit a home run and Makenzie Carle pitched during the fist inning with Porter pitching the rest of the game.

“A double play was made when a Kellogg player hit the ball toward third base player Tessa Payne hitting her foot,” said Coach Lauren Bartoe.  “The ball went off to shortstop, Lindsay Taggart, who caught it and made two outs in the process.”

Saturday the girls a double header against visiting Timberlake.

In the first game the Badgers had the lead until the fourth inning.  Timberlake took the lead and beat the Badgers 9-6.

The Coeur d’ Alene Press reported the Badgers lost second game and it was called after the third inning due to the 15 run rule. The final score was reported to be 16-0.

The Badgers play away at Lake City against the junior varsity team on Saturday.
