Leroy Adel Koehn, 70, of Othello died Monday April 16, 2012, at his home with his family at his side.
Leroy was born in Merced, California on June 8, 1941 to Elmer and Susanna (Jantz) Koehn. He attended school in the Merced area. after school he worked in the manufacturing and farm industries. He married May Koehn in Winton, CA on April 19, 1967. They lived in Livingston, CA, eventually opening Koehn Fabrication Machine Shop in 1981. On November 23, 1981 Leroy was ordained as Mennonite Minister. Leroy and May spent 9 ? years in the mission field in Haiti, for the Mennonite Church. May passed away on December 12, 1991. In 1993 Leroy married Marilyn Giesbrecht in Scio, Or. They moved to Othello in 1994. Leroy opened Othello Welding and operated it until his death.
Leroy always put his spiritual life before his material life. He was a man of faith and very devoted to his church. He enjoyed gardening and talking with friends and soon to be friends.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents and his wife May. He is survived by his wife Marilyn of Othello, his children Marsha Millsap (Gary) of Jamesport, MO, Aaron Koehn (Becky) of Othello, and Dowanna Klassen (Tim) of Albertville, AL; his siblings Phyllis Wedell of Bonners Ferry, ID, Laura Esau of Atwater, CA, Roger Koehn of Livingston, CA. Vaden Koehn of Colcord, OK, Wanda Flores of Livingston, CA and Maynard Koehn of Stevinson, CA and 13 grandchildren.
A time for visitation has been set aside at Stevens Funeral Chapel on Wednesday April 18, 2012 beginning at 4:00 PM and concluding at 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Columbia River Mennonite Church located at 4940 Albany Rd. at 2:00 PM on Thursday April 19.
