POLSON - The Lady Pirates collected 13 hits while pitcher Shalaina Duford held Hamilton in check at the plate in a 17-1 victory for Polson on Thursday.

Duford struck out seven and held Hamilton to three hits with 70 pitches. After the first inning where the Lady Broncs got one score off a home run, the Polson pitcher held Hamilton hitless.

POLSON - The Lady Pirates collected 13 hits while pitcher Shalaina Duford held Hamilton in check at the plate in a 17-1 victory for Polson on Thursday.

Duford struck out seven and held Hamilton to three hits with 70 pitches. After the first inning, where the Lady Broncs got one score off a home run, the Polson pitcher held Hamilton hitless.

Duford was also impressive at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs and two doubles.

After the Lady Broncs took an early 1-0 lead, Polson answered right back with five runs off two hits in the bottom of the first. They would add another run in the bottom of the second, then three more in the bottom of the third to take the 9-1 lead.

Then in the bottom of the fourth, the wheels really fell off for Hamilton. Polson scored eight runs off five hits. The Lady Broncs couldn't answer back in the top of the fifth and the 10-run rule was enforced.

Tina "The Terminator" Marquardt was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Makaliah Wilson was 1-for-1 with a triple and two RBIs. Leadoff hitter Ashley Johnson was impressive as well with a 2-for-2 day and an RBI.

In the bottom of the lineup, Jessica Bagnell got a hit and drove in two runs. Jaylin Kenney had two singles and two RBIs.

Polson is now 3-2 on the season.
