Missing man found dead

POST FALLS - A 35-year-old Post Falls man who was reported missing on Saturday was found dead on Wednesday night after he apparently hung himself from a tree.

Jason Charles Tallon was found by a male resident who was walking his dog at 5:02 p.m. at the end of Ashraf Court in the Black Stallion Estates near Poleline and Chase.

Tallon was found behind a fence that divides the subdivision from the Union Pacific railroad tracks on the north side of the city.

Tallon reportedly walked away from a friend's home on Hydra Place in Post Falls on Saturday morning. After he was missing, it was reported to investigators that Tallon was suffering from depression.

An investigation continues.

Burglars strike Cd'A home

A Coeur d'Alene home was found broken into and ransacked on Wednesday, according to a report issued by the Coeur d'Alene Police Department.

A resident of the 1900 block on West Windermere Avenue returned home from work in the afternoon to find his back door pried open. The entire house was in disarray, including tools scattered across the living room floor and every drawer and cabinet door opened and rummaged through, according to the report.

Luggage had also been taken out of a closet and opened.

Items were missing in every room of the house, including a computer, TV, mountain bike, several checkbooks and a shotgun.

The collective items were valued at more than $2,000.

A police officer who photographed the scene couldn't locate fingerprints on any of the doors.

The resident said he had locked his home before leaving, though he didn't use the deadbolt.
