Man pleads innocent to string of thefts

A 23-year-old man pleaded not guilty to theft charges Thursday in Flathead District Court.
Cody McPheeters is accused of stealing items from several stores as well as stealing items and returning them for money or store credit.
According to court documents, McPheeters’ alleged crimes involved approximately $4,700 worth of items from seven stores. He is charged with felony theft and misdemeanor attempted theft, for which he faces up to 10 1/2 years in jail and a fine of up to $51,500.
His next hearing is scheduled for May 9.
