In Loving Memory of Norma Dorothy Sawyer

Norma Dorothy Sawyer went home to be with her Lord on April 20th, 2012, at Hospice House in Coeur d'Alene. Norma was born in Cyrus, Minn., to Hans and Carrie Westrum on April 7th, 1922.

Norma married Mearl Sawyer in February 1978 and retired from Bourns, Inc., in Riverside, Calif. She loved to travel and for quite a few years both Mearl and Norma became avid "snowbirds" spending the summers traveling and the winter months in California before moving to LaPine, Ore., and then on to Coeur d' Alene to retire from the snowbird life.

She is survived by her husband, Mearl, and 5 of her 8 children, Patti Mast and son-in-law Sam of Coeur d'Alene, Warren Maupin of Riverside, Calif., Iola Jones and son-in-law Steve, Janet Brock and son-in-law Bill, and Gary Maupin of Oregon City, Ore.

Norma raised 8 children with 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Norma is preceded in death by 3 of her children, Bob Maupin, Dorothy Corkins, and James Maupin, and 2 sisters and 1 brother.

A service to celebrate Norma's life will held at Yates Funeral Home, 744 North Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of North Idaho if desired.
