Game one of the doubleheader saw the Tigers jump out to a 4-1 lead after the first inning of play. Ephrata put two runs on the board in the second and third innings to stretch the score to 8-1. The Greyhounds, refusing to lie down, stormed back with six runs in the bottom of the sixth to close the gap to 8-7.

But the Tigers put two on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh inning to go up 10-7. Grandview failed to produce a run in its half of the frame and lost the game to Ephrata by three runs.

The second game of the twin bill was a see-saw battle that had home team take a 4-2 lead after one inning of play. The Tigers hung two more runs on the board in the top of the third to tie the game 4-4. But the Greyhounds scored three in their half of the inning to retake the lead 7-4. Grandview made it 8-4 with a run in the bottom of the fifth.

Three runs for Ephrata in the top of the sixth got the Tigers with in one, 8-7. The Greyhound pushed their lead to 9-7 with a run in the bottom of the inning. The Tigers got one more in the seventh, but it wasn't enough to pull out the win as they lost the game 9-8.

Brissey was the big stick again for Ephrata going 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and a home run.

Katie Allen was on the bump and was credited with the win for the Tigers.

"The girls played very hard today," coach JoElle Malone said. "Unfortunately we had a few too many errors and went a couple of innings without scoring in the second game, but the girls never gave up."

Ephrata is back on the diamond Friday when the team hosts a CWAC doubleheader against the Red Devils from East Valley. The first game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
