MOSES LAKE - Terry Brewer is seeking re-election to Position 1 on the Grant County PUD Board of Commissioners.

Brewer "will continue to focus on keeping rate increases to a minimum, while working with staff to ensure that Grant PUD remains a fiscally sound and sustainable, reliable utility for our customers," he stated.

Brewer hopes to see Grant PUD's work on expanding fiber-optic networks continue, he stated.

"I am committed to ensuring that Grant PUD remains true to the values of the founders of the district and responsive to the needs of today's customers," he stated.

Brewer retires in May from the Grant County Economic Development Council, where he served as executive director since May 1997. He is a past board member and treasurer of the Washington Economic Development Association, a past board member of the Lakeview Country Club, and a current board member of the North Central Workforce Development Council. He takes on the role of president of the Ephrata Rotary Club in July.

Raised on a farm in Indiana, Brewer graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's of science degree in business management and administration.

In Indiana, Brewer and his wife, Shirley, raised three children on a farm. He was employed with the Northern Indiana Public Service Company, an investor-owned electric and gas company, for 30 years. While there, he worked in engineering, operations, marketing and management.

Brewer moved to Grant County in 1997.

He "appreciates the small community and rural lifestyle of Grant County" and "understands and values the principles of public power and will continue to work hard to maintain Grant PUD as a premier asset in Grant County," he stated.
