A two vehicle head-on collision 10:25 p.m. Saturday U.S. 95 at Kootenai Trail Road holding up traffic for about tow hours.

Boundary County Sheriff’s deputies, Paradise Valley Fire and Boundary Volunteer Ambulance were responded immediately.

An Idaho State Police officer arrived on-scene from Bonner County a short time later to start the investigation.

Clinton E. Corey, 37, Sandpoint, who was driving a 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback, was traveling on Kootenai Trail Road and failed to stop at the stop at the sign at the intersection before entering onto U.S. 95, according to ISP Corporal Don Moore,

Rebecca David, 46, Bonners Ferry, driving 2006 Ford Taurus sedan, was traveling north and was struck by Corey.

Corey, David and David's passenger, Raymond Schlechte, 47, Bonners Ferry, were wearing seat belts.  They were transported to Boundary Community Hospital for treatment.

While at Boundary Community Hospital, one of the victims reported that a dog of unspecified breed was in the vehicle at the time of the collision;.

So far no one on scene reported seeing the dog, described as being black and weighing about 100 pounds.

It is possible that the dog was injured and fled shortly after the collision.

If anyone sees a dog matching that description in the area they are asked to call the Boundary County Sheriffs Office at  267-3151, ext., 0.
