MOSES LAKE - Richland took two games from Moses Lake at Larson Field last night. Neither contest was close as the Bombers beat the Chiefs 15-2 in game one and 17-3 in the nightcap.

Richland took a 3-0 lead in the first game of the twin bill. Moses Lake got a run back in the bottom of the first inning to close the gap to 3-1. The Bombers put three more runs on the board in the second, seven in the third and two in the fourth to push the score to 15-1. The Chiefs added a run in the bottom of the fifth, but lost the shortened game by virtue of the 10-run rule.

Richland pounded out 15 hits to the Chiefs six.

Hailee Bishop was 2-for-3 with a home run, Tressa Radach had two hits in two at bats with a double, and Brianna Valdez had a home run and one RBI for Moses Lake. Haylie VanLaethem took the loss. April Utecht hit a grand slam in a seven-run third inning  for the Bombers.

Game two

Things went from bad to worse in the second game of the doubleheader as Moses Lake lost by 14 runs. The Chiefs put a run on the board in the bottom of the first inning to take its only lead of the game, 1-0.

Richland brought three runners across the plate in the top of the second to go up 3-1. The Bombers made it 4-1 with a run in the third.

Moses Lake closed the gap to 3-2, but a 12 run fourth inning for Richland blew the game wide open. Both teams scored a run in the fifth inning as the game was cut short by the five inning 10-run mercy rule.

The Chiefs are back on the diamond tomorrow when the team hosts Eisenhower in twin bill action at Larson Field at 4 p.m.
