Jiggs was owner of the Meyer Pump Company for 30 years before his retirement in 2002. He was an avid golfer and passionate about his music. He played bass for decades throughout the Tri City area with various groups such as The Richland Light Orchestra, Bell Tones, Armand Boatman Trio, Jiggs Meyer Quartet, and backed up touring Jazz greats Doc Severnson and Sara Vaughn among others.
