NIC wins two by shutout in softball

COEUR d'ALENE - Danielle Hockett pitched a one-hitter in the second game as the North Idaho College Cardinals swept the Colorado Northwestern Spartans 4-0 and 8-0 in a Scenic West Athletic Conference softball doubleheader on Friday at Memorial Field.
NIC (21-35, 17-28 SWAC) hosts Colorado Northwestern (4-43, 1-40) in a doubleheader today at noon to conclude the regular season for the Cardinals.
Brianna Bishop hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning of the first game for NIC. Emily Perlich pitched a three-hitter.
In the second game, KaSara Wise hit a three-run double and Shelby Carter hit a two-run home run - giving her 19 for the season - in a five-run fourth inning for NIC.
Colorado Northwestern's lone hit came on a leadoff single by Amanda Lanigan.
