Tennis: Polson teams split in Bitterroot

Polson tennis teams both earned splits yesterday against two Class A schools in the Bitterroot Valley. The Polson boys down Hamilton 5-2, while the girls defeated Corvallis 6-1.
Polson tennis teams both earned splits yesterday against two Class A schools in the Bitterroot Valley. The Polson boys down Hamilton 5-2, while the girls defeated Corvallis 6-1.
The boys started things off with a 5-2 victory over Hamilton thanks to singles wins by Sam Peel and Layne Zimmerman. Polson got the sweep in doubles action with Will Davey and Ian Laimbeer winning their No. 1 singles matchup over Reese Isherwood and Craig Weese 5-7, 6-1, 6-0.
Hayden Congdon and Dylan McCrumb won their No. 2 doubles matchup while Reed Hovenkotter and Sam Kinzle won their No. 3 matchup
Against Corvallis, the matchup was close but the Polson boys fell 4-3. In singles, Peel and Tommy Mercer won their singles matchups while Dylan McCrumb and Hayden Congdon won their doubles match.
For the girls, Hamilton got a 6-1 victory over the Lady Pirates. No. 3 doubles team Jordan Quinn and Karly Rochin picked up the one victory for Polson
Polson bounced back against Corvallis with a 6-1 victory. Whitney Zimmerman, Sara Robinson, Kylee Wegner and Tegan Bauer all won their singles matchups. Doubles teams Audra Engbretson/Karmen Borchers and Kenzie Clay/Mollybeth Hendrix won their doubles matches.

You’ll have to excuse me for stating the obvious, I’m assuming everyone in Polson already knows this but Neal Lewing is one heck of an actor. I was first able to see the Port Polson player as Judge Turpin in the production of Sweeney Todd last November.
