A man was transported to the Kalispell Regional Medical Center in critical condition after he crashed his motorcycle into another vehicle in Evergreen Monday evening.
According to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Jim Hawkins, a Chevy Malibu was northbound on U.S. 2 at its intersection with Evergreen Drive waiting to turn left while the motorcyclist was southbound on U.S. 2 approaching the same intersection at roughly 5:45 p.m.
Although there was some dispute as to whether the light was green or turning yellow, the vehicle attempted to make the turn and the cyclist did not stop, striking the vehicle and being thrown from his motorcycle.
The man, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered chest and head injuries as well as road rash, and was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center by Evergreen Fire Rescue.
Hawkins said charges are pending.
