A 33-year-old Kalispell woman pleaded not guilty Thursday in Flathead District Court to a charge of negligent homicide.

Mindy Brist rolled her sport utility vehicle on U.S. 93 just south of Somers in the early morning of Feb. 18.

Her passenger and boyfriend, Timothy Attard, died in the crash.

A court document alleges Brist said she and Attard had been out drinking and gambling for the evening and that she had illegally taken a Lortab pill while they were out. It stated several alcohol containers  also were recovered from the vehicle.

Her next hearing is scheduled for Oct. 31.

If convicted, Brist faces up to 20 years in jail and a fine of up to $50,000. Her next hearing is scheduled for Oct. 31.
