'Epic' race draws kayakers to Flathead Lake

<p>Brad Ludden takes off from the Lutheran Bible Camp for the second leg of the Epic Shore to Shore Race on Saturday, August 4, in south of Lakeside. Ludden's father, Chuck Ludden paddled the first leg of the race. The Epic 24 mile race began at Camp Marshall in Rollins at 8 a.m. The race benefits First Descents, an organization that provides young adult cancer fighters and survivors a free outdoor adventure experience. First Descents was created by Brad Ludden.</p>
<p>Dan Block became the first of the Epic 24 mile races to reach the check point at the Lutheran Bible Camp south of Lakeside on Saturday, August 4, during the Epic Shore to Shore Race. Block arrived a 10:31 a.m.</p>

The 24-mile Epic Shore to Shore Race benefits First Descents, providing free outdoor adventure experiences for young adult cancer patients.
