WHITEFISH — Kalispell’s Logan Iverson, along with teammate Tom Swanson, helped led the Montana team to an opening round tie with Alberta on Tuesday at the Montana/Alberta Ryder Cup at Whitefish Lake Golf Club.

Iverson and Swanson accounted for half of Montana’s nine points winning their four-ball round 2-1 and their Chapman round 2 1/2-1/2.

The girls’ side wasn’t as competitive, with the Alberta team taking full control to lead 15 1/2-2 1/2. Kalispell’s Kaydee Aurich and teammate Kailey Prosser of Great Falls were unable to get a point in the 17 group. Kalispell’s Tiegen Avery and Billings’ Kortney McNeil got half a point in the front nine of the morning four ball round, thanks in part to a hole-in-one by Avery. 

Avery aced the 124-yard third hole.
