The Fishin' Magician: Salmon and Trout

Sockeye salmon are still being caught in the Brewster Pool, but most anglers are switching their attention to the kings that are swarming off the mouth of the Okanogan River. I had heard that the action on Lake Wenatchee for sockeye had slowed down, but then came back.

Three fish limits are being taken in a short time here again, and although some of the fish caught are showing signs of being in the lake for a while, bright fish are still predominant in the mix. Anglers that enjoy fly fishing our small streams should get at it.

The Entiat, Icicle and others are still slightly high but are dropping into wading form. We should have a month or better, depending on fall weather to enjoy fishing these streams. The Yakima and Methow are also in good dry fly form now. These are great rivers for floating, and if you avoid the tubers and rafters can give you one of the best days you've ever had fly fishing for trout.

Don't forget about the free seminar at Bob Feil Boats and Motors next week. You could win a Lowrance depth sounder just for showing up!

I had a great experience the other day. I had stopped by Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee and ran into someone that I knew from Lake Chelan.
